Spread the Word Sunday #2

Spread the Word Sunday is a meme I came up with to announce some sort of news or cause.

So . . . The RT Booklovers Convention is right around the corner. Unfortunately for me, this year I will not be able to make it this year. Instead of having a blasting in "There's no place like home" -- Kansas -- I will be stuck on campus in Ithaca. Yay! -_-
For those who do not know what the RT Booklovers Convention is, I provided some info below:

"WELCOME! — We are thrilled that you will be joining us for our 30th Annual RT Booklovers Convention anniversary celebration in Kansas City, May 1 - 5, at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center. Being a milestone year, we have lots of special events planned including a romance retrospective at RT’s formal Anniversary Ball. Several authors from early to mid 1980s will be joining in the festivities including: Bertrice Small, Jude Deveraux, Karen Robards, Janelle Taylor, Marsha Canham, Susan Johnson, Kathleen Eagle, Jennifer Blake, Robyn Carr, Laura Kinsale, Phoebe Conn, Mary Balogh, Virginia Brown and Julie Garwood to name a few.

When you pick up your badge at the hotel, only full-convention attendees will receive a tote bag filled with goodies (books, promo items etc.) and a voucher for a trip through our ”Goody Room“ where you can select a generous number of books from stacks of more than 200 titles."

Now that you are caught up, my absolute favorite parts of the convention -- the main reasons why I go -- are the Gaint Book Fair and Teen Day. Hmm, what are they you may ask. Well . . .

Giant Book Fair:

Convention attendees — as well as the general public — are welcome to attend the two annual book signing events. On Thursday, May 2, meet some of the best e-book, self-published and graphic novel authors and illustrators at our annual E-Book, Indie Publisher and Graphic Novel Expo. Then on Saturday, May 4, join hundreds of authors and fans at our giant book fair. These events are open to conventioneers and the general public.

Teen Day:

We've created a fantastic program especially for Young Adult readers. Our third annual Teen Day will be an entire day dedicated to teens and their favorite authors. Filled with book signings, workshops, and other special events, we will finish Teen Day off with a bang at our Teen P-A-R-T-Y!
