The Story:

My Review: 

I am a sucker for fairy tale retellings so I was all for reading Stealing Snow.

Opening Line:

In the distance I could see a tree that seemed to scrape the sky in every direction with gnarly branches and the strangest, almost luminescent white wood.

Plot:

Stealing Snow wasn't the most thrilling, romantic book but it was interesting enough to keep me in the story.

Snow is 17-year-olds and clinically insane. Or, at least, according to Whittaker Institute where she has been in since she was 5. But one day a boy steps through a mirror and whisks her away to the other side.

On a quest in a magical, dangerous world, Snow does not who are her enemies and who are her enemies.

And finding her true identity.

The pacing of Stealing Snow was a little slow, but I did appreciate we jumped right into the magical world. The world-building and the characters were well fleshed out. I did not have any favorites but the bad characters were so deliciously easy to hate. As first time reading Danielle Paige's books goes, her writing was above average, and I am open to reading more of her work. 

All in all, I did enjoy Stealing Snow, it was full of magic, mystery and a dash of romantic tension.

He looked liked he'd literally walked out of the fire instead of just setting one. One of the other kids ran and hid, but I walked right up to him and touched his face to make sure he was real. I can't say that I loved him at first sight, but I've been walking toward Bale from the second I met him. -- page 12
